Writer’s Workshop: The Simple Moments

It’s Thursday once again.
Do you know what time it is?
Writer’s Workshop Courtsey of Mama Kat from

Prompt # 3
Before all hell breaks loose Peeta and Katniss are able to picnic on the roof together…they know that when they leave one or both will likely die. Peeta looks at Katniss and says, “I wish I could freeze this moment, right here, right now, and live in it forever.” Describe your moment.
(inspired by Catching Fire written by Suzanne Collins)

I’m sitting on my family floor with my husband beside me, watching our children play. That is all 3 children having fun together. A moment in time when all I hear is laughter. No one is fighting, arguing, whining, or asking for a million things. No dishes, laundry, or cleaning to be done. No cell phones ringing, not a care in the world. No thoughts of needing to do this or that. Just for a moment when all is well. The moments I can sit back and relax, look at my life, and remember how incredibly lucky I am. The simple moments are the one’s I would love to freeze and live in forever.

I have much to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving.  I am happily married (even if I do want to put him in timeout sometimes), have 3 beautiful crazy rambunctious children, everyone is healthy, I have a loving family, and amazing lifelong friends.
It can’t get much better than that!!!

  8. Mama Kat says:

I love those moments!! And I'm always glad when I take a minute to appreciate that I'm having that moment. I don't ever want to look back and feel like I took those times for granted.

  9. Holly says:

Hopping over from Mama Kat's. That is really beautiful. Those are the best moments. I must "document" mine so when it is crazy I can remember how good I really do have it.Holly

  10. Sounds like heaven to me!!I feel the same way, I am thankful for it all- even the craziness that gives me my way-too-early- grey hairs :)After all its the crazy that makes you appreciate the simple. Doesnt it?

  11. A moment of pure laughter – yes – that would be a moment to freeze! I think I would like to freeze individual moments with all my sons and then one with my husband – is that asking too much? It's so hard to get everyone in a moment-freezing mood at the same time!
