Mental Notes for Mommy…Be Careful How You React to Your Children

I have learn many things through trial and error or heck just by
simply living my life. Something may happen and I say
“Make a Mental Note of that for next time.”

Be Careful How You React to Your Children.
It might come back to haunt you.

Yes, as mothers we aren’t perfect.  At least I’m not and will never pretend to be.  Sometimes the way in which we react towards our children will in deed get thrown right back at us.  We tend to forget our children are always learning!  For example, a week or so ago I can recall a particular situation.
I was telling 1 & 2 it was time for dinner.  If you have a 5 and 3 year old, you know sometimes you are talking to a brick wall.  Seriously, no response whatsoever!!!  So I then responded with stombing my foot to get their attention, along with “It is time for Dinner, get up to the table or I’m going to beat your little butts!” Never in a million years would I by any means beat my children.  I have only given them a small wack on the butt a hand full of times.  Which by the way doesn’t work.
Well, just the other day #2 was asking #1 to stop doing something to him, as always.  #1 would not listen.  So #2 stombs his feet and says “#1 if you don’t stop it, I’m going to beat your butt!”  And proceeds to hit his brother on the butt.

Oh, the joys of parenting.

Kids can be such little parrots. I really have to be careful to not talk about other people around my 8 yr old or else it might get back to them :)Stopping by from SITS.
