I have a true passion for Pregnancy & Childbirth. I just love every single aspect of it. I am currently seeking a certification as a Childbirth Educator and Doula.
I also have a love for Style, Health, and Beauty. I love my stillettos but seem to be wearing flats more often these days. I must admit that I have champagne taste on a beer budget, so finding money saving deals and steals are an absolute must. I am always on the lookout for “Must Have” products that help organize and simplify my life as a mother. I do my best to create a healthy lifestyle for both me and my family. I regularly search for “All Natural” recipes that are both healthy and family friendly. I feel it’s so important to stay true to who you are, stay healthy, and simply enjoy life.
I love being a mother and wouldn’t change it for the world. But it is the most challenging job I have. I’ve had my fair share of meltdowns. Moments of being so overwhelmed and frustrated I thought I might truly lose it. That little bit of Type A personality who strives for perfection and control, has slowly thrown in the towel (most days) and emerged into a little bit more of a laid back type B personality. Motherhood is a constant balancing act, one in which I have improved on but am still trying to master.
This is the part I just don’t quite understand. Why is the reality of becoming a mother so sugar coated? Why is that after reading every book imaginable and even having 3 sisters and friends who had children before me, I had no idea what the true reality of motherhood was like. It’s not always blissful and you won’t always completely adore your child every single minute of the his/her existence. Why is it that mothers at least those around me never talked about the challenges and difficult moments you will face? Probably because you won’t truly understand until you experience it firsthand.
It wasn’t until I began to reach out and talk about my feelings to other mothers around me, did I realize every mother has been there. That is when I began to write my thoughts and feelings down and asked other mothers what they had experienced.

I completely relate to this "I had no idea what the true reality of motherhood was like." — With three older sisters, I had 8 nieces and nephews before I was a mom myself. And yet I still felt like I was clueless, it was frustrating – still is at times! But we make it through, we learn plenty and become better mothers for it. Now following – glad to find you via the UBP!
Great party post! As someone who struggled to get pregnant and had to have surgery to make my little man possible, it is hard to have the feelings of "What am I doing?" on somedays. It is so important to have a strong support group of other women to lean on. I am stopping by via UBP, hope you get a chance to visit my site as well! http://www.momondealz.com
I too had no idea what true motherhood was like…I'm almost positive that it has some secret society rules to go along with it. See you around the UBP.

Stopping by from UBP…this is an amazing post. My friend and I were just having this same conversation. She doesn't have any children yet and I was telling her about my day filled with meltdowns, diaper explosions and other chaos when she said it is so nice to know what I will have in store for me. I too feel that I was never exposed to how much work and how hard it is to be a mom. My mom had 4 children within 5 years and her 5th 6 years later, I though I knew what it was all about. How wrong I was…but at the end of the day I wouldn't trade it for anything. Looking forward to checking back and reading more of your posts.Thank you,Michelle
