Our Hanging Garden

I have always wanted to have a garden in my backyard.  But unfortunately we never have until now.  There are several reasons why:

1.  The dog – she digs up everything!

I found  this yesterday – perfect example!

2.  Having to chase out all the little critters that seem to love eatting your garden.
3. Just not having enough time in the day

But we were determined to start a garden this year.  Woohoo!  But it’s not your typical garden.  Why?

It’s a Hanging Garden!

We used the Topsy Turvy planters.  Yes, they have more than just the traditional tomato plant.  All you need is the planter, a strong supportive hanger, planting soil, fertilizer, and of course the actually seedlings.  We used organic soil and fertilizer so everything will be organic.  All they need is lots of sun and quite a bit of water.  How easy is that!
We have the traditional Tomato Plant

Basil, Parsley, and CUCUMBERS!

Strawberries

We actually have some NEW growth after just one week!!!!

HOT Peppers, Banana Peppers, and Red Peppers

We didn’t leave the boys out.  They have started their very first Greenhouse! We found these great “My First Greenhouse” packages at Lowes.  The only two things we will actually planting in the ground this year.
Sweet Baby Watermelon

Sunflowers

It shall be an interesting summer.  Nothing will be ready until mid-August.  By then we will probably be headed for a entirely new adventure in canning.
Until then…Wish Me Luck!
