Yes, you did read that right,
IT’S A BOY!!!
Our sweet little peanut decided to make his debut a bit early.
He was born on January 28th at 11:05pm.
He weighed 5lbs 15oz and was 19in long.
It was a quite the experience. I was dilated to 4cm and contractions were every 2-3 minutes when I arrived at the hospital. I saw my midwife earlier that day and I was 1cm. She didn’t think it was going to happen anytime soon. Unfortunately they slowed down and I was stuck at 4cm from 11pm on the 27th until about 5pm on the 28th. Because I was early they wouldn’t send me home but wouldn’t do anything to move things along to aggressively either. I was finally 5cm and his head move down around 6pm. I was 6cm at 8pm and they broke my water. Every kicked in right away. I thankfully had a wonderful doula this time and she helped me through. I was able to labor in the tub in the end and he was born at 11:05pm after just a few pushes. I had a fantastic drug free labor and delivery! We had to stay a few extra days due to low blood sugar, a little jaundice, had trouble keeping his temperature up at first, and he was initially working a little harder to breathe. But he improved and we were home in four days.
His three brothers LOVE him!
Our little boy is know 6 weeks old and 8lbs. He has reflux like the rest of my boys and a few other things due to being early. Overall he is doing well. It’s been a bit chaotic but we are now adjusting to our new life with four little boys.
